Who are we?

At a time when the importance of science, especially mathematics, is underlined by various international studies, the lack of public information and the shortage of vocations among young people constitute a threat to the future.

This translates into the need to :

- strengthen research in the basic sciences, particularly mathematics, in interaction with other sciences and technologies

- develop the activities of transmission and diffusion of scientific knowledge and technological know-how to the society.

This is why, through the Institut Henri Poincaré (IHP); the Centre national de la recherche scientifique (CNRS) et Sorbonne Université (formerly UMPC) associated with learned societies in mathematics (Société Mathématique de France (SMF), Society of Applied and Industrial Mathematics (SMAI), French Statistical Society (SFdS)), have set themselves the objective of strengthening the links between science, citizens and actors of the economy and industry.

To support this revival of research and mediation activities, companies and patrons have joined forces to accompany and support the Institut Henri Poincaré in its development: the Cercle des entreprises partenaires de l'IHP was created on November 25, 2015 with Airbus Group, Atos, BNP Paribas, 80Capital, Huawei, IBM, Orange, RTE, Thales and a private foundation.
To collect financial, skills and/or material contributions from companies and patrons, the Endowment Fund of the Institut Henri Poincaré was created in spring 2016.
To complete the initial endowment from the founders, the Endowment Fund collects exclusively private donations with which it finances teaching and education projects in order to promote equal opportunities and the awakening of vocations. The new Maison Poincaré, an extension of IHP scheduled to open in 2023 on the Curie campus (Paris 5th, opposite the current building) is today the main project supported by the Fund.

In 2017, the Cercle des entreprises partenaires (Corporate Patrons Club) opened to new members who provide support in funding, in-kind, or in skills.
As of March 1, 2018, the Cercle des entreprises partenaires  included 14 members : 80cap, ATOS, AXA IM Chorus, BNP Paribas, DIATEM, Exo7, IBM, Huawei, L'Intendance suivra, Naotic, Orange, SQUADRA Avocats, RTE, Vivienne Investissement.

In 2019, after 3 years of operation, the Endowment Fund launches an ambitious campaign to renew the commitment of partners and expand the Club to new members.
